ClickBank, when used effectively, is a great way to earn some extra cash online. As a matter of fact, you could even earn a full time income with it – as long as you’re doing it right.
Whether you have tried to make some good money off of Clickbank and just aren’t seeing the dollars roll in, or whether you have no idea what it is and how to use it, we’ll talk about how you can pick the right niche on it so that you can make a ton of money, fast.
What Is ClickBank?
A lot of people aren’t aware that ClickBank is actually a retail company on the internet. Founded in 1998, this company offers a wide range of different products, ranging from software to eBooks to yoga pants. Almost anything that one could ever want to buy can be found on ClickBank.
Both vendors and affiliates can really profit from ClickBank. A vendor, or merchant, can list their goods on the ClickBank marketplace. Affiliates can then choose to promote that merchant’s product on their blog or website, which in turn will increase the merchant’s product’s transparency on the web. A product that’s easy to see find on the web will obviously be purchased more than a product that isn’t being promoted.
Never Pick A Product To Promote
One of the biggest mistakes that many people who are new to ClickBank make is that they focus on a particular product or set of products to sell before theyfocus on a particular niche. Think of it this way: would you buy a set of leather couches without building your house first? Probably not. Otherwise those couches may not suit the décor or fit inside of the room.
Picking a particular product is a bad idea because any given product can become uncompetitive. For instance, let’s say you decided to market the Atkin’s diet specifically. While this diet USED to be popular, nowadays it’s almost obsolete. Same with the CD player – if you decided to promote CD players ten years ago, there’s a good chance you’re kicking yourself now.
The fact of the matter is that something bigger and better will always come along, no matter what the product is, so stay far, far away from it, no matter how popular and great a product like the iPhone may look right now.
A niche is very different from picking a product. Why? Because isn’t too specific. A niche will never become obsolete or untrendy or uncompetitive – as long as you choose the right one. Choosing the right niche is exactly what will have you making money online and also more confidence in your ability to market products online.
What Is A Niche?
The word “niche” is used to describe different and distinct areas or segments in the market. It isn’t one specific thing; rather it can be separated into different groups such as:
- A psychographic group, meaning that you look at peoples’ interests, opinions and activities (i.e. paying basketball, aligning themselves with a particular political party, etc.)
- A demographic group (i.e. men between the ages of 18 to 24, elderly persons over 65)
- Anyone with a particular need (i.e. someone who suffers chronic migraine headaches)
The big difference between a niche and a product is that a niche can offer you a ton of different marketing opportunities than focusing on a single product does. A person of a particular niche will have multiple desires and needs that you can then tap into and use to boost your earning potential and make money online.
How To Hunt Down A Niche With Long Term Earning Potential
So how do you find a niche that will make you a lot of money? Every niche out there will continue to have wants, desires, needs and challenges that will need to be solved and satisfied, but there are definitely some niche-categories that will bring in a lot more cash than others. When looking for your ideal audience, here are some things to take into account:
Choose A Large Audience
Now you could choose a smaller audience (let’s say, of 500 to 1000 people) but if you do choose a niche that size, you will have to be marketing some high priced items in order to make a good profit. The larger the audience, the more potential sales there are to be made, so try to pick a large sized niche when ever possible.
Find An Audience That Needs A Solution
The best niche market to focus on is always one that has a problem and needs a solution. You will then be able to cater to them directly and can potentially market a variety of products to them that will help out. For example, if your niche market has back pain, you can market heating pads and pain medication.
There Is A Strong Emotional Need For A Solution
If someone is desperate to solve a problem, they may do almost anything to try and find a solution. This is right where you can step in and offer a solution to their problems, otherwise known as the product that you are currently marketing. Not only that, but there is proof that we do purchase things on emotion more than we think, so take advantage of this fact.
They Are Under Served
The best niche to find is one that hasn’t been properly served or marketed to on the internet. It may seem impossible that there is a niche out there that hasn’t received adequate attention, but they do exist. Start thinking about times when you have performed searches online and have come up with little or poor results. Make a list and start thinking about how you can possibly cater better to it.
Choose A Niche That Will Spend Money
Here is perhaps the most important point of all – you want to choose one that has the money to spend! Think about the products that are available for a particular market, and whether or not they have the cash to spend on it. College kids may not have the money for a Lexus, but they may have the money for a used vehicle.
